You need to SLOW DOWN

What's the rush?

“The happiest people I know are slowing down,

not speeding up.”

Justin Welsh

Slow the F down

Last month, my brain was going a hundred miles a minute.

Writing down business ideas, buying random domains (anyone else do that?) and the worst part…

I was sleeping 2 hours a night.

After 3 consecutive sleepless nights…

My wife stopped me dead in my tracks and said the two words I needed to hear more than anything.

Slow down.

It’s what I needed in that moment.

And what I needed moving forward for that week and the future.

Brain going a mile a minute with an idea…SLOW DOWN

Thinking you should be power prompting ChatGPT at 2 am…SLOW DOWN

and then the craziest thing started to happen.

The universe started telling me too.

On March 25th, Justin Welsh, an entrepreneur I look up to posted this image on social media.

Shook me to the core.

Then, I found myself helping others in the coming days and texted them this image.

I had a friend in the hospital because he was over working himself…SLOW DOWN

I had another friend who was mad her business wasn’t exploding…SLOW DOWN

I even had a 2 hour conversation with my 20 year old nephew

What was most of my advice for him?

SLOW DOWN.

I know what you're thinking.

"But Dodge, the world is moving FASTER than ever."

AI is evolving daily. Social media wants your attention constantly. Everyone's hustling for that next opportunity.

But here's the truth: The best decisions happen in stillness. The biggest breakthroughs come from clarity. And you can't have either when you're running on empty.

So this week, I challenge you to:

  1. Hand write FIVE things you're grateful for every morning. No phone. No laptop. Just you, a pen, and paper. It takes 2 minutes but forces your brain to downshift.

  2. Take a 10-minute walk outside with no devices. No podcasts. No calls. Just you and your thoughts. I bring a small pad and paper when I walk because a clear minded walk yields a bunch of ideas.

  3. Set phone boundaries. Pick one 2-hour block this week where your phone goes in another room. Not on silent. Not face down. In another room entirely.

Try it.

You'll be amazed what happens when you create space. Your best ideas will find you when you're not chasing them.

Your body will thank you.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is...

SLOW DOWN.

P.S. If you tried any of these, shoot me a message.

I want to hear what happened when you slowed down.
