and ways to help Mother Earth

Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.”

💭 My Final Thoughts

🌎️ What Earth Day means to me

I’ve been vegetarian for 9 years.

At first, I did it because my girlfriend at the time had to cut out meat for health reasons, so I decided to support her.

We watched the documentary, Fork Over Knives, and let’s say I was hooked from there.

What I didn’t know was going to happen was the connection between reducing my meat consumption and the positive impact is has on our planet.

And up until 2016, I had never heard of Earth Day.

Now it’s one of my favorite days of the year.

It’s a reminder to be kind to Mother Earth because without drastic change the Earth we have today will not be here for our loved ones and generation afters.

Having Earth Day as a holiday since 1970 is a way to spread awareness AND help combat climate change with volunteer clean ups, tree planting and education surrounding the topic.

I wish Earth Day fell on the weekend so that it would allow more people the opportunity to spend time outside and away from work, distraction and technology.

My wife and I will be starting our day with a sunrise hike at Griffith Observatory so that we can spend time reflecting before entering our work day.

I am also hosting Week 2 of my Dodge the Norm Run Club at 6:30 pm for anyone around the Hollywood area in Los Angeles.

Please visit EarthDay.org for events in your city, state or country throughout the entire year that gives back to the planet.

♻️ How you can make every day Earth Day.

I thought it would be fun and helpful to list out some of the ways I put the Planet first and you can too!

♻️ FREE

  1. Recycle your plastic, glass and cardboard - you should all have the ability to recycle into your bins each week at your apartment complex or house

  2. Recycle your cans - if you live in a state with CRV 5 cents can return - you are already paying the 5 cents at purchase so you might as well get it back

  3. Choosing to be vegetarian or if you’re a carnivore - reducing your meat intake by participating in meatless days like Meatless Monday.

♻️ LEVEL 1

  1. Purchase reusable paper towels that are machine washable (Zero Wastely is what we use - $34)

  2. Purchase shampoo & conditioner bottles and fill them at stores like ReGrocery

  3. Recycle your clothes and electronics with Trashie ($15-$60)

  4. Buy a compost bin & drop your food scraps at a local farmers market (Cute sleek compost bin - $32)

♻️ LEVEL 2

  1. Buy your own outdoor compost bin for your food scraps + buy some worms and you have a full regenerative gardening eco system. You add the food scraps, worms eat the food, worms poop the food - which is gardening gold for fertilizer.

  2. My mother-in-law bought us an at home composting system called Lomi. I place our food scraps in there once a week and the composter breaks down the food, that would omit gas into our atmosphere, into a dirt like material. It’s fascinating.

  3. Purchase a hybrid or electric car (I’m in love with Rivian - my dream SUV)

 💭 My Final Thought

Please do your research.

To say that Climate Change is not happening and is a myth is completely ludicrous.

And to think that the actions of 1 person (yourself) doesn’t do anything is not true.

Millions of people making small changes can save the planet.

If you have any questions on how to reduce your footprint please let me know.

Let’s all do our part to make sure Mother Earth is still around for our future generations.
