✅ MY FAVORITE COMMERCIAL LAST NIGHT

This is an easy decision for me.

And for the internet - from what I’ve seen so far.

FUN FACT: Nike has gone 27 years without a Super Bowl ad.

And they came back with vengeance.

Highlighting the top female athletes on the planet.

Caitlin Clark. A’Ja Wilson. Sha’carri Richardson. Jordan Chiles. JuJu Watkins. Sophia Smith. Sabrina Ionescu and more.

The first camera shot of Sha’carri lining up on the start line. EPIC.

The voiceover by recent grammy winner for best rap album, Doechii. EPIC.

Scripting…Top Tier.

"You can't be demanding. You can't be relentless. You can't put yourself first. So... put yourself first. You can't be confident. So be confident. You can't challenge. So challenge. You can't dominate. So dominate. You can't flex. So flex. You can't fill a stadium. So fill that stadium. You can't be emotional. So be emotional. You can't take credit. You can't speak up. You can't be so ambitious. You can't break records. You can't have any fun. You can't make demands. You can't be proud. You can't keep score. You can't stand out. Whatever you do, you can't win... So win."

Here what Chief Marketing Officer, Nicole Hubbard, had to say.

“It felt like the right message to bring out to the world, to remind athletes and people in general, that you are what you tell yourself. If you let society tell you who you’re going to be, you’re going to become that. These female athletes are breaking every barrier possible. They’re filling stadiums … they’re driving ticket sales and they’re commanding salaries that they’ve never commanded before.”

Couldn’t agree more.

As a former employee of the WNBA, these athletes have deserved this notoriety for years. Kudos to Nike for going all in on these women. Supporting their efforts and stepping up big to showcase their amazing skills on America’s biggest stage.

📕 REST & RELAXATION

After the crazy start to 2025, my wife and I booked a weekend to Big Bear Lake this past weekend.

It was just want we needed.

Rest, Relaxation, Rejuvenation and clean mountain air.

But, if you want the honest truth.

When my wife booked the trip on January 2nd, I was not in a good head space.

We were spending money for a vacation in January? Who does that? What about “No spend January”?

Sitting here after the trip: It was exactly what we needed.

And I also realized how much of a negative scarcity mindset I was in back in January.

Now that my mental health is in a better place and I vibrating higher, we’re already planning our next trip.

Also, when we travel and my mind is clear - the amount of ideas I have is out of control.

I was reading in the cabin this weekend and for every sentence I read - I had an idea for something related to my content and my business.

A CLEAR BRAIN 🧠 IS A CREATIVE BRAIN 🧠

So here is your reminder: Take breaks in your business. Book the trip. Clear your head. Come back focused and hungry to work.

📹️ THE BEST PART OF MY WEEK 💝

Besides the mountain air and time spent with my wife

The best part of my week was getting back in the Podcast Studio.

I’m tired of pushing off my podcast to the back burner of my to-do list.

I have too many amazing friends, with amazing stories to tell the world.

And I CAN be the vehicle to get to stories out to the world.

There’s a podcast studio down the street from me in Hollywood so I have no excuse to not bring my podcast back to life.

My goal is CONSISTENCY.

I have one podcast recorded, but I plan to have 4 episodes ready in the can before I go live. Stay tuned.

💭 MY FINAL THOUGHT 💭

This is my 6th newsletter of my 52 week newsletter challenge.

I’m enjoying the consistency of writing but once again I have to be honest on here if I want to stay true to the DODGE THE NORM brand that I am building.

I have failed to bring put the hours that I would like into this newsletter to make it better each week.

My goal over these next few weeks is to increase my time writing here during the week and not 9 pm on Sunday evening.

If you’ve made it this far: What projects do you need to put extra time and effort into?

Can you set aside intentional time this week to push those projects forward and not leave your homework until the night before the assignment is due?

Oh great now my high school trauma of late night cramming is resurfacing.

I need to go to bed.

Go crush your week and Dodge the Norm!
