🌞 2024 REFLECTION

My wife and I finally had our “2024 Recap Meeting”

We take 2 hours to discuss the past year and the year ahead. This is the second year having this meeting and it really sets the tone for the year.

We planed to have this discussion towards the beginning of the year but the LA wild fires put a wrench in everything.

Here’s our meeting breakdown:

  • 2024 Reflection: I go back in my camera roll and take pictures of fun experiences we’ve had - trips, birthday parties, comedy shows, etc.

  • 2024 Net Worth: How did our money grow and did we reach our financial goals.

  • 2025 Personal Goals: My list consists of a half marathon, triathlon and reading 12 books.

  • 2025 Professional Goals: We set revenue goals with our personal businesses that we will check in at each quarter.

  • 2025 Net Worth Goal: We set another aggressive goal to increase our net worth by 44%.

Our highlights of the year

Another habit that we will continue in 2025 is our Sunday night meetings. This allows for us to understand what lies ahead in the week. We discuss what kind of work load we both have, who needs the car when and most importantly - how we can support each other.

Looking your spouse in the eyes and asking “How can I support you this week?” is a powerful thing. It helps them know you’re there if you need them and quite frankly it helps having another person with your best interests in mind (aka your to do list).

Try it out this week!

📕 📗 📘 Book of the Week - Inner Excellence by Jim Murphy

I promise that 99% of the the books I talk about here will be recommendations from personal experience.

Today’s book I haven’t read yet but you’ll see why.

Two weeks ago, Philadephia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown was spotted on the bench reading a book…IN THE MIDDLE OF A PLAYOFF GAME.

Of course, the internet went bonkers with it.

The book…Inner Excellence.

The author, Jim Murphy, was a former minor baseball player and current performance coach who has consulted with athletes to mold the curriculum of the book.

The best part about this story?

Before the viral moment - the book was ranked 523,947 on Amazon.

A week later - IT WAS #1.

Let this be a reminder to you that you never know who has your product in their hand.

You are one “wide receiver reading your book on the bench of a playoff game” away from your life drastically changing.

Now the Eagles & AJ Brown are headed to the Super Bowl - maybe Jim can snag some tickets from AJ.

📹️ FEEL GOOD VIDEO OF THE WEEK 💝

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you know that LA has been bombarded with wildfires over the past 3 weeks.

Chien Yu, a fire engineer from the Pasadena Fire Department was fighting the Eaton Fire earlier this month, while his family lost their own home.

In this video, you’ll see Yu returning to his home with his colleagues to retrieve his wedding ring. It’s unclear why he wasn’t wearing it but at the end of the video you’ll see how important it was to his wife.

It’s touching to see a glimmer of positivity amongst all of the loss that families have endured.

Here’s the Yu Family GoFundMe if you feel called to donate.

💭 MY FINAL THOUGHT 💭

Want to know a personal goal for 2025 that I didn’t mention above?

Getting out of my own way.

My negative mindset led me to a lot of lows in 2024. And quite frankly, I’m sick of talking about it and staying in the same place. It’s time to level up and make some moves in 2025!

I hope you’re ready for the best year yet!
